The HOW & WHY of Networking

Gone are the days when a business could just set up shop and sit back and wait for the customers to walk in the door.

Nowadays there is lots of competition for the attention and spending power of every person as a potential customer for someone’s business.

So how can you be more effective at attracting to your business the customers who want what you have to offer?

Networking and referrals are the best source of new clients and are a crucial aspect of planning for your success. Networking is a way to build and grow your business and can save a lot of time, energy and money.

It used to be said “It’s not what you know but who you know”. However more recently it’s been said it’s more about who knows you … and are they willing to refer your product and service to people they know and meet?

"Business is about relationships, and relationships are about people. "

It’s time to invest in your business and get skilful at the game of networking and network weaving. Networking is about making connections with people and building relationships. It’s an opportunity to create visibility and credibility which leads to profitability. It’s also about exchanging value within your community – a bit of “I’ll scratch your back and you scratch mine”.

So – come along to a local community business networking event and make sure everyone knows who you are and what is unique about your business and how it may be relevant to someone they may know.

At this meeting you will have the opportunity to:
• meet other local business leaders
• develop your networking skills to use immediately in your business
• expand your network
• promote your business through offering a prize in the draw
• and be inspired by our guest speaker - Rosemary Lee, Breast Cancer Network Australia
